There are lots of search engines published in the Internet today for public use. However, knowing the most powerful ones is important. This is because it helps you to find the most relevant information in a subject that you want to know.

Google is considered the best search engine today for they provide the most relevant query results. They also really mastered the implementation of the K.I.S.S. ( Keep It Simple Sweetie) principle discussed in various award-winning reading resources.

Looking back, Yahoo! was the first dominant search engine. Later came Google with its simple and focused approach which made them to overshadow other SEs including the once giant Yahoo!

Google uses keyword-based search technology. This innovation put them far ahead  of their competitors like Msn and Yahoo! which are built on directories. The algorithm used by Google for crawling the web enables them to index web site information intelligently.  Hence, they are able to return the most relevant results when queries are done.

In addition, Google also provides other applications useful for people. Tools like Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Adwords Advertising, and Google Docs dwarfed even their closest competitor Yahoo!

In the last quarter of this year, as expected my many, Google will put another program for public use–the Google Wave. This is aimed to integrate Google applications and to make the use of all their programs a lot easier and more powerful as ever.
