Published on May 21st, 2009.
If you are one of those individuals or bloggers who are experiencing a problem on how to filter spam out of your blog then this article could be a great help for you.
Here’s why…
I am sharing on this post two ways on how you can filter spam out of your blog. These might not be the best spam filter tools but, at least to me, these are effective as your web spam filters.
So, what are these spam filter tools I am talking about?
I am recommending the use of reCaptcha and Akismet-these are plug-ins you can add in your wordpress blogs for spam filtering.
While these two are both spam filters, Akismet works at the back-end while the reCaptcha on user interface.
These are the steps you need to follow to be able to use these spam filter services…
For Akismet wordpress plug-in:
It takes just easy steps to install Akismet plug-in to your wordpress blog. Just follow below:
1. Download the zip file for Akismet (check first your blog plug-ins, usually the Akismet is there by default and only needs to be activated so no need to download).
2. Upload the plug-in to your blog. Have it activated.
3. Provide your WordPress API key. And that’s it!
For reCaptcha WordPress plug-in:
The reCAPTCHA WordPress plugin uses a CAPTCHA to prevent comment spam and also uses MailHide to prevent email spam. Here is how to add reCAPTCHA to your WordPress blog:
1. Download the zip file for the reCAPTCHA WordPress CAPTCHA plugin.
2. Unzip the recaptcha folder into your WordPress wp-content/plugins directory.
3. Activate the plugin on the Options | Plugins Management page of your WordPress admin site. A web form will prompt you to enter a public and private API key. You can sign-up for the keys at the ReCAPTCHA site using the link provided, and then enter them in the text fields to activate the plugin.
4. That’s it! Your reCAPTCHA widget should now appear on the comments page.

So, there you go. Above are two effective ways on how you can filter spam comments out of your blog. It makes sense to use it now!

For business websites, one important part that contributes for its success is to design a persuasive squeeze page. If you are able to create an effective one, you can have a better chance to generate more conversion rates.
A squeeze page is a web page that is especially designed to compel site visitors to opt in to a particular site. An effective squeeze page can make you generate leads which are potentials for your better profit.
So, I am writing now some ideas to create a more effective squeeze page–what are the elements of well-designed squeeze page? Consider some ideas below:
1. Write a persuasive headline or title
Your headline or title can make or break your potential client. You must learn to create a persuasive headline that is not only visually appealing to your readers but explains what your service or product is all about–by just reading the headline. You have to have a headline that is attractive yet realistic.
2. The Summary of benefits of your product or service
Of course, your visitors browse your site hoping to get benefits and that is the basic of opting in to your websites. So, you must include in your squeeze page a quick overview of the benefits they can have if they opt in. Short and concise arranged in bullet form is ideal.
3. The opt-in form ( sign-up form)
Another important element of a squeeze page is the opt-in or the sign-up form. You must always remember that the main purpose of your squeeze page is to capture leads–to funnel potential clients–so it is important that you are able to integrate an effective opt-in. In the opt-in area, you have to emphasize the benefits they can get. You may offer free resources that are relevant to your potential customers so that they are encouraged to sign-up.

Some Logo Designing Tips
Published on April 21st, 2009.
That idea is practically true when it comes to designing a logo for your company. Making your logo design more compelling can make great deals for your business so it is important that you are able to create a good one.
Here are some company logo designing tips:
1. Have a better understanding on the core function of your company–that is essential for you to come up with a theme.
2.Make your logo as simple as it should be. If you have noticed, some of the world’s most popular companies have logos with simple designs–Coca-cola, McDonald, Fedex are just some examples of these; try to check their logos again. The thing is, people tend to understand, to absorb better the message that a simple logo is trying to convey than the complex ones.
3. Colors. As part of simplicity also, you have to consider the appropriate colors to be used for your designs. It should, at most, have a maximum of 3 colors in it. This is to ensure that colors do not overshadow the message that your logo is trying to magnify.
Above are just some ideas that need to be considered when designing a company logo. Just remember, a logo performs an essential, crucial integral part for your company’s identity and business success so you have to design one that is more compelling and worth-remembering for people and potential clients.
Below are just some example of Logo Designs ( Courtesy of Gerald Dumandan-from Site Update Service team):
